Introduction

The 14th International Symposium on Calcium Signaling will be held in Jinan, Shandong Province, from October 11 to 15, 2026. This conference is co-sponsored by the Cellular Calcium Signaling Academic Subgroup and Neurobiophysics Academic Subgroup of Biophysical Society of China, co-organized by the Key Laboratory of Otorhinolaryngology (National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China), the Shandong Physiological Society, and the Key Laboratory of Membrane Receptors of Shandong Province, and hosted by the School of Basic Medical Sciences and the Advanced Medical Research Institute of Shandong University.

The Symposium on Calcium Signaling in China (SCSC) is a biennial academic conference jointly organized by Chinese and international scientists. The inaugural session was held in Xuzhou in 1987, followed by triennial meetings: 1990 (Tianjin), 1993 (Shijiazhuang), 1996 (Nanjing), and 1999 (Xuzhou). At the 6th symposium in Qingdao (2006), the conference format was reformed following the Gordon Conference model, and it has been held biennially ever since. The 7th to 13th symposia were held in Yichang (2008), Beijing (2010), Huangshan (2012), Yichun (2014), Zunyi (2016), Shenyang (2018), and Wuhan (2024), respectively. Notably, the 8th symposium in Beijing was a joint meeting titled New Horizons in Calcium Signaling, co-hosted by the Biophysical Society of China and the Biophysical Society (USA), with dozens of internationally renowned experts including Richard Tsien, Wolf Almers, and John Lederer in attendance.

The 14th academic symposium, to be held in Jinan in October 2026, aims to provide an international, high-level platform for exchange and collaboration among experts, scholars, and researchers in the field of calcium signaling. It will showcase the latest research advances worldwide and promote the rapid development of this discipline.

第14届国际钙信号和细胞功能研讨会将于2026年10月11日—10月15日在山东济南举行，此次会议由中国生物物理学会细胞钙信号分会、神经生物物理分会共同主办，国家卫健委耳鼻喉科学重点实验室、山东省生理学会、山东省膜受体重点实验室协办，山东大学基础医学院、山东大学高等医学研究院承办。

国际钙信号和细胞功能研讨会（Symposium on Calcium Signaling in China, SCSC）是由海内外科学家联合举办的每两年一次的学术大会。首届会议于1987年在徐州召开，之后每3年举行一次(1990年天津、1993年石家庄、1996年南京、1999年徐州)。2006年第6届青岛会议上对会议形式进行了改革，参照Gordon Conference模式之后每两年举行一次。7-13届会议于2008年、2010年、2012年、2014年、2016年、2018年、2024年分别在宜昌、北京、黄山、宜春、遵义、沈阳、武汉举办。其中第8届北京会议是中国生物物理学会和美国生物物理学会联办的“New Horizons in Calcium Signaling”合办的联席会议，Richard Tsien、Wolf Almers、John Lederer、等数十位国际著名专家参会。

2026年10月将于济南召开的是第14届学术会议，旨在为钙信号研究领域的专家、学者、研究人员提供一个国际化、高水平的交流与合作平台，展现国内外最新的研究成果，推动这一领域的快速发展。
